Carleen Castille - President

[Directors Index]

    Carleen Castille

In 1975, Carleen Castille put her experience working with patients as a nurse, her understanding of people, and her compassion for those in need to work full-time in her family's funeral home. As a teen working part-time in a flower shop, she was often called to the funeral home to help out. Having grown up in the apartment over the funeral home, this was a natural progression.

In 1982, Carleen was named president of Martin & Castille, taking over with the same dedication to individuals and community that her father staked his reputation on when he opened the home in 1934.

Since becoming president, Carleen has fostered her attachment to the individuals that make up our community through support of organizations such as Hospice of Acadiana, the Widowed Persons' Service through the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the Acadiana Arts Council, and the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Lafayette Board of Trustees.

Carleen's experience being a licensed funeral director (1977), being certified in Bereavement Support and Education from the Association of Death Educators and Counselors (ADEC), and as a comforter give her a unique role in the structure of Martin & Castille Funeral Homes. She serves aptly as both president and grief specialist.
