Carroll J. Meaux Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Carroll Joseph Meaux, 74, who passed away at his residence in Scott on Sunday, January 23, 2022, with his family at his side. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum. The Most Reverend Michael Jarrell, Bishop Emeritus, Diocese of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Gussie Pellerin Meaux; his sons, Michael Meaux and his companion, Stephanie Denton, and Todd J. Meaux and his wife, Kasey, all of Scott; six grandchildren, Trent, Travis, Lillian, Seth, Kathryn, and Emery; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Dronet, and Barbara Credeur; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Carroll was preceded in death by an infant son, Troy Meaux; his parents, Lloyd Meaux and the former Jeanne Romero; two brothers, Paul Floyd Meaux, and Charles Meaux and his wife, Shirley; and two brothers-in-law, Milton Dronet, and Oran Credeur. Carroll was a native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Scott for many years. He married his childhood sweetheart the former, Gussie Pellerin on April 30, 1966 and enjoyed fifty-five years of marriage. He started Carroll Meaux Water Well Service in 1990 and has been proudly servicing his customers until his retirement in 2021. He started his day by drinking coffee with friends at local establishments, which included Shell Corner Service Station, Family Food Mart, and most recently Don’s Specialty Meats. When he wasn't working, he could be found at his farm tending animals, riding his tractors, or baling hay. He will be remembered for his fist bumps, controlling the remote for the TV, cooking for family, and blaring KBON on the loudspeakers. Pallbearers will be Horace Romero, Raywood “Bruce” Broussard, Geno Domingue, Jim Roger, Gerald Menard, and Carlton Hebert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Meaux, Todd Meaux, and Travis Castille. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Meaux family to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana; Food with Love, especially Kent Zerangue; and his caregivers, Valerie Williams, Barbara Kilchrist, Paula White, Bonnie Joe, and Ashley Carter.
