Gus Thomas Little, Jr.

December 27, 1924 - January 28, 2022

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mimosa Pines Cemetery, 568 Belle Moye Road, Sulphur, LA., for Gus Thomas Little, Jr., age 97, who passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Rosewood Retirement Community in Lafayette. Reverend Juliet Spencer will conduct the graveside services. Survivors include three sons, Thomas Little and wife Jan, Robert Little, and James Little and wife Ellen; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Nann Blossom Little; and his parents. Gus was born on December 27, 1924 in Okmulgee, OK., to Gus Thomas Little, Sr. and Earsel Bumpass Little. He graduated from Ponca City High School in Ponca City, OK. Gus served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII as a bombardier on a B-24 Liberator aircraft. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. He retired as the Band Director from Merryville High School in Merryville, LA. Gus was a member of Sulphur Lodge #424, Free and Accepted Masons and a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church in Sulphur, LA. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Little family to the staff of Rosewood Retirement Community and Bridgeway Hospice in Lafayette for their compassionate care and support.
