Jane Smith

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette for Jane Boudreaux Smith, age 89, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. Fr. Connor Poirrier, Parochial Vicar, Associate Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her children, Dr. J. Jerome "Jerry" Smith and his wife Germaine, Nancy Domingue and her husband Raymond, Mary Anne Smith, and David Smith and his wife Roxie; her brother, Robert O'Neil Boudreaux; her sister-in-law, Theresa Shaheen Boudreaux; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William I. Smith; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. "Mick" (Gladys Hohorst) Boudreaux; her sister, Sr. Gladys Elise Boudreaux, Daughter of Charity; her brothers, James O. Boudreaux, Charles Adam Boudreaux, Sr., Albert John Boudreaux, her twin brother, James "Jerry" Boudreaux; and her granddaughter, Jeanne Marie Hadley. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ray Domingue, Jr., Dr. Danny Domingue, Gregory Domingue, Benjamin Domingue, Davin Smith, Jordan Smith, and Jonathan Smith. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jane Boudreaux Smith's name to Hospice of Acadiana (Food with Love), The Carmelite Monastery, or The Zerben Bienvenu and William Smith Fund for Acadiana Pro-Life Education, www.prolifelouisiana.org/acadiana A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Smith family to the nurses, staff and doctors of Hospice of Acadiana, for the kindness and compassion given to Mrs. Smith and her family during their time of need.
