She was preceded in death by her parents, Lennis Trahan and Cloma Duhon Trahan; her brothers, Melvin, Wilson, Bradley, and Maurice Trahan; her sister, Ruby Trahan Caillier. Fay worked at the phone company since the age of 17. She retired 33 years later with many friendships and continued those friendships through the phone company’s service group, The Pioneers, who made stuffed bears for children in crisis and involved nursing home residents to help stuff the bears. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, cross-stitching, and gardening. She was a very involved “Granny” attending every dance recital, ballgame, concert, play, field trip, and graduation. Her grandchildren have fond memories of their sleepovers with the hide and seek “treasure box”, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings. She was so fortunate to have her 28 year companion, Ticky Labauve, to be by her side until the end. They enjoyed many travels in tents, campers, and motorcycles. She had a hunger for knowledge, looking forward to watching Jeopardy daily, reading her National Geographic books, and Reader’s Digest back in the day. The travels she had with Ticky fostered her desire to learn and see all that she could. Her children are so grateful for the experiences she had with him. She was very active, and her life was very full, we will always remember her that way. Pallbearers will be: Adam Johnson, Marty Usie, Lane Usie, Corey Caillier, Steven Richard, and Alvin Trahan. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Trahan family to the amazing staff at NSI Hospice and our loving sister, Tricia Johnson, for her constant care for mom since the onset of her illness.
