Joan Doumit Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lafayette for Joan Doumit, 87, who passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at The Carpenter House of Lafayette-St. Joseph Hospice. Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette. Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, will serve as Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. The Very Reverend Chester C. Arceneaux, VF, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will serve as Concelebrant. The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist from 1:00 p.m. until time of services, with a rosary prayed at 1:30 p.m. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Carolyn Doumit; nephews, Joseph Doumit, Emile Doumit and wife, Kathy Decuir Doumit, Kevin Stockstill and wife, Robyn Mayer Stockstill; niece, Tricia Doumit Segura and husband, Daymon; three great nieces, Sophia Anne Stockstill, Isabelle Grace Stockstill; Demi Ariel Segura and a great nephew, Davin Jude Segura. Joan also leaves behind her close cousin, Marvin Huber Olinde and husband, Louis Olinde. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emile Doumit; brother, Joseph Doumit, one sister, Rosalind Doumit Stockstill, and close cousin, Sarah Nami Mahtook and her husband, Robert A. Mahtook, Sr. Pallbearers will be Emile J. Doumit, Joseph A. Doumit, Louis Michael Olinde, Michael A. Mahtook, Jr., Robert A. Mahtook III, Andrew J. Mahtook, Gregory C. Mahtook, Jr. and Matthew C.
