Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 1:00 pm in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Jose "Leon" Carrillo, 57, who passed away on March 21, 2022, at his residence in Scott. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 10:00 am until time of services. Pastor Frank Carmical of Southside Bible Chapel in Lafayette will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his children, Leonel M. Carrillo, Maria A. Fuentes and her husband, Jose A. Fuentes Jr., Graciela Carrillo and her husband Hector Galvan; his grandson, Daniel A. Espana-Carrillo; and his siblings, Juan Carrillo-Huerta, Micaela Carrillo-Huerta, Gloria Carrillo-Huerta, Maria Elia Carrillo-Huerta, Loreto Carrillo-Huerta, Miguel Angel Carrillo-Huerta, Maria de Carmen Carrillo-Huerta, Victor Carrillo-Huerta, and Alberto Carrillo-Huerta. He was preceded in death by his father Macario Carrillo-Serna and his mother Maria Leonor Huerta-Carrillo; and one brother, Macario Carrillo. Jose “Leon” Carrillo relocated from Dolores Hidaldo, Guanajuato, Mexico when he was 20 years old. Leon was a hardworking man and when his family began to grow in 1991. He was determined to provide and give his children the best in life that he could. This led him to begin remodeling and renting out homes in Lockhart, Texas. All this was done while holding a full-time job in Austin, Texas working in building construction, home renovations, and road and pavement construction. As a father he taught his three children the importance of education, money, and investing. Leon was a very adventurous, caring, kind man who made friends everywhere he went. Leon never hesitated to help and would give his last dollar or the shirt off his back to help anyone. He loved to share stories about traveling in the US with his kids. Leon enjoyed outdoor labor and working with his hands. He would always say he loved his job and could not see himself doing anything else. Leon was a God-fearing man who loved and prayed for everyone whether he knew them or not. Leon, your family and friends love and miss you. We will never forget you. León era un hombre trabajador y cuando su familia comenzó a crecer en 1991, estaba decidido a proporcionar y dar a sus hijos lo mejor que podía en la vida. Esto lo llevó a comenzar a remodelar y alquilar casas en Lockhart, Texas. Todo esto lo hizo mientras tenía un trabajo de tiempo completo en Austin, Texas, trabajando en la construcción de edificios, renovaciones de viviendas y construcción de carreteras y pavimentos. Como padre, enseñó a sus tres hijos la importancia de la educación, el dinero y la inversión. Leon era un hombre muy aventurero, cariñoso y amable que hacía amigos donde quiera que iba. Leon nunca dudó en ayudar y daría su último dólar para ayudar a todos. Le encantaba compartir historias sobre viajes en los EE. UU. con sus hijos. Leon disfrutó del trabajo al aire libre y trabajar con sus manos. Siempre decía que amaba su trabajo y que no podía verse haciendo otra cosa.
