Kalup James Broussard

December 7, 1949 - January 24, 2022

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Kalup James Broussard, who passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at his residence in Youngsville. The family will receive visitors at Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 12 Noon until the service. Survivors include his three children; two sons, Richard Broussard, and Chad Broussard and his fiancée Jessica LaCourse, and his daughter, Christiana Broussard Monrroy and husband Fredy; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Broussard, Missy Prejean, Emily and Grace Broussard, and Antonio and Donovan Broussard; his great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Adeline, Dallas, Dakota, and Grayson; his sisters, Janice Broussard and Karen Cormier; and his brothers, Gary Broussard and wife Gwen, Gervis Broussard and wife Pam, and Darrell Broussard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Rodney Broussard; his sister, Debra Simonton; his brother, Ronnie Broussard; his nieces, Chrystalynne Marcantel and Brandi Broussard, and his nephew, Nicholas Cormier. Kalup was retired having been the Director of Education for Spencer Business College in Lafayette. His career in management also involved property and restaurant management. He took pride in teaching others courses to obtain their GED and bettering their lives. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kalup will be remembered for his compassion for others. One example of that was his willingness to adopt and raise his oldest son Richard Broussard, which is greatly appreciated and always will be remembered by Richard. He possessed a strong work ethic and even though many of his labors were exhausting, Kalup pushed on to provide for his family, always putting their needs before his. Despite his health issues, he was always in good spirits when spending time with his family and enjoyed sharing what he could. He will be deeply missed by all.
