Katy Brock DeVille

Memorial services celebrating the life of Katy Brock DeVille will be held in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, LA. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Katy, age 66, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 in Houston, Texas. The family will receive guests on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home. Reverend Honey Becker will conduct the service. Survivors include her beloved husband of 33 years, Stephen Alan DeVille; her sister, Pamela Jackson and husband William; her niece, Charisa Sloan and husband Jason; her nephew, Adam Jackson; her great-niece, Alissa Peltzer; and her great-nephew, Jack Sloan; and many beloved relatives on the DeVille side of her family. Katy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Frances Austin Brock. Katy’s family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada when she was 5 years old. She attended school there and later graduated from Clark High School. Despite her health problems she moved to Miami, Florida after graduating, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree from the International Fine Arts College. She then moved back to Las Vegas and it was there that she met Steve through Jacque, their mutual friend. She moved to Ville Platte and married Steve where she embraced the Cajun culture and learned to cook a variety of Cajun meals including some of Steve’s favorites, gumbo and crawfish etouffee. She had a heart for her nieces and nephews and would pick up little treats for them that she knew they would enjoy. Katy loved antiques and had an eye for repurposing them. She had the talent of an interior decorator and no matter where she and Steve lived, she always turned their house into a beautiful home. Katy was strong and determined and kept a positive attitude despite all her illnesses. She was witty and always quick to come back with a funny response. Katy was the source of Steve’s strength and the love of his life. She will be missed by her family and friends.
