A Catholic Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel - SOUTHSIDE location, for Kay D. Ford, 65, who passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at her residence in Youngsville. Reverend Mario Romero, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of services. Survivors include her beloved husband, Willard C. Ford, Jr.; her daughter, Jenny Descant and husband, Jacob; her sons, Paul Robichaux and Matt Robichaux and wife, Heatherbrook; her grandchildren, Hudson Descant, Parker Robichaux, Breckin Robichaux, Rhylan Robichaux, Lando Young-Robichaux, Jameson Robichaux and Lively Robichaux; her sisters, Karen Yost and husband, Matt, Donna Caruso and husband, Jim. and Terri McKinney and husband, Dave; and her well-loved Chihuahuas, Dolly and Dillion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe E. McKinney and Dixie Liles McKinney. Kay was born in Austin, TX at Bergstorm Air Force Base Hospital in 1956. She moved many places in her life as her father was in the Army. She grew up in Minden, Louisiana where she graduated in the top 10 of her class at Minden High School. She received a full scholarship to Northeastern State University and obtained a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy and a Master’s in Toxicology at the top of her class. She loved her work as a Pharmacist for 38 years. She was an excellent seamstress and shared her talents with the schools and churches around her, as well as her friends. She was very social and loved spending time with her friends. She was kind and loved helping anyone in need. She was an avid antique enthusiast, and loved shopping with friends and family. One of her favorite pastimes was sewing and creating costumes for her belly dancing troop and for the Renaissance Festival. She was able to spend her retirement with her loving Husband and Chihuahuas, as well as her children and grandchildren. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Ford family to Steve LeBlanc for the devotion and care he has selflessly given to Kay in her time of need and to the staff of Audubon Hospice for their compassion.
