Lana Jo Domingue Rogers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott for Lana Jo Domingue Rogers, 76, who passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley. The Rogers family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Deacon Art Bakeler will conduct the funeral services. Lana Jo Rogers was a native of Scott, LA and a lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA. She graduated from Scott High School Class of 1964. Lana worked for Bell South which became South Central Bell and is now AT&T, and she retired with over 45 years and this was her first and only job. She was a proud member of The Telephone Pioneers of America, with whom she loved volunteering for many local charities. She also really enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics. Lana put everyone before herself always. She was always smiling and loved to dance. A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all. She will be dearly missed by all who were a part of her life. Survivors include her granddaughters, Erin Gerard, Kayla Simon, and Gracie Melton; great-grandchildren, Elise and Kolson Gerard, and Zephyr Simon; her sister, Katrina Sporer(David); brother-in-law, Gilford Domingue; her stepchildren, Sue, Kathy and Clarence and their families; godmother, Rudell Dronet; godchild, Vange Guidry; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lana was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Nicholas Rogers; her parents, Oleus and Vivian Simoneaux Domingue; her daughter, Jessica Lynn Domingue; great-grandson, Carter Gerard; her sisters, Deanna Breaux and Eileen Domingue; her brothers, Donald Domingue and Neil Domingue. A heartfelt appreciation to Southwind Nursing Home and their caring staff for the kindness and compassion over the past seven years of Lana's Alzheimer's Disease. Thanks to all our family members who cared for Lana during her illness. Many thanks to her Lamm Hospice nurses for all the care through the years; special thanks to Courtney her last nurse who made sure she was always comfortable.
