Margaret Meynard Huval

July 20, 1929 - March 16, 2022

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Margaret Meynard-Huval, 92, who passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Rev. Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her loving husband of 73 years, Joseph E. Huval; four children, Joseph John Huval of Broussard, Mitchell George Huval, James Douglas Huval, and Anne Margaret Huval and companion Denise Jardell all of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Jake Deutsch of New York and Jesse Larson-Deutsch of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Glenda Huval of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Landry Meynard and George Meynard. Mrs. Margaret was a seamstress for Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Parish for many years, making vestments for three Pastors and three of the Bishops of the Diocese of Lafayette and also one of the first lay ministers for communion at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Parish. She was a very devout Catholic who prayed her rosary daily and shared her spiritual faith with others. During her free time, she enjoyed sharing her artistry in making clothing and jewelry for herself, family, and friends. Margaret enjoyed cooking a good meal for the ones she loved, caring for animals, and cherished moments spent with her family where she always put other’s first before herself. The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Monday from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 1:30 PM at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location.
