Marie Ellmer Bass, 82, went to see the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Maison de Lafayette. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Clyde R. Bass of Lafayette; one daughter, Barbara B. Piper and her husband, Jeffrey Piper of Lafayette; one son, Michael B. Bass and his wife, Laura H. Bass of Chattanooga, TN; seven grandchildren, Eryn Piper and her husband, Joshua Campo, Emily P. Gravois and her husband, Samuel Gravois, Sarah Piper and her companion, Brandon Bourque, Mary Piper and her companion, Aleczander Ross, Addison S. Bass, Blake A. Bass, and Grey X. Bass. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Schaag Ellmer and Stephen Ellmer; one sister, Barbara E. Roberts and one brother, Alfred G. Ellmer. Marie loved gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Bass family to the nurses, staff and doctors of Maison de Lafayette and Lourdes Hospice for their kindness and compassion given to Mrs. Bass and her family during their time of need.
