Maureen Gail Trappey

December 24, 1941 - February 7, 2022

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 2 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home's DOWNTOWN location in Lafayette for Maureen Gail Trappey, age 80, who passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Acadian Regional Medical Center in Eunice, LA. The family will receive visitors from 12 Noon until the service time at the funeral home. Reverend Andrew Schumacher, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau, will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include one daughter, Angella L. Trappey; one son, Todd Christopher Trappey and his wife, Ashley; four grandchildren, Nicole Magee and her husband Paul, James Guidry, Jordan Trappey, and Tyler Trappey; four great-grandchildren, Cole Guidry, Eli Guidry, Addison Guidry and Bentley Comeaux; and her sister, Genell LeBlanc Simon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Trappey, Jr.; her parents, Joseph Paul LeBlanc and Hilda Addison LeBlanc; and her brother, Mickey Joseph LeBlanc. Maureen was retired having worked for Michael's Arts and Crafts for 25 years. Previously, she and her husband opened and operated Chris' PoBoys in Lafayette in 1978 until they sold it in 1983. She was a talented seamstress, amazing cook, loved to work in her flower beds, and cherished time she was able to spend with her beloved family. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Trappey family to Dr. Randy Miller, to the staff of St. Martin Hospital, and all the staff of Acadian Medical Center for their compassionate care and support.
