Michael "T-Mike" James Hidalgo

A Graveside Service will be held for Michael James Hidalgo, age 65, on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Milton. T-Mike, as he was affectionately known, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2022. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Milton. T-Mike was born in Abbeville, LA. He grew up in the Milton community and was a graduate of Ovey Comeaux High School. T-Mike was a talented mechanic and spent many years working in the oil and gas industry. He retired as a well-respected large engine diesel mechanic. Upon retirement, he spent his time sharing his skill by helping friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, music, caring for his plants, reading scripture, and treasured time spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Duhon Hidalgo, and their two sons, Jude Michael Hidalgo and his wife, Erin, and Jacob Paul Hidalgo and his partner, Stefanie Bedoya; his grandchildren, Laila, Olivia, and Eli Hidalgo; his sisters, Helen Hidalgo Breaux and her husband, Michael, Hope Broussard Bearb and her husband, Bryan, and Mary Angela "Angel" Hidalgo Olivier; his brother, Paul Brent Hidalgo and his wife, Margaret; as well as many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John Robley “Bay Bay” Hidalgo and his mother, Annabelle Marie Broussard; his stepmother, Lillian Credeur Hidalgo; his stepfather, Paul Hugh “Nap” Broussard; his grandparents, Belisaire "Bailey" Broussard, Ursule Menard Broussard, Ulysse Hidalgo, and Helen Broussard Hidalgo; his stepson, Johnny Virgil Cherry; his nephew and godchild, Ryan Clay Hidalgo; and his beloved dog, Molly. Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Jude Hidalgo, Jacob Hidalgo, Brent Hidalgo, Mike Breaux, Jeremy Hidalgo, and Tre' Leger. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Hidalgo family to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and the Carpenter House for the compassionate care given during his time of need and to Gordon Thibodeaux for your fellowship and support.
