Neil Leslie Boudreaux Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, Louisiana for Neil Leslie Boudreaux, age 55, who died on July 1, 2022, at 9:15pm at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. The Family requests that visitation be observed at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Milton, Louisiana. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the graveside services at the home of Jon and Pam Burley, and Wesley Galjour will deliver his Eulogy. Reverend William Schambough, Pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and services. Musical selections will be selected and sung by vocalist Wayne Hebert. Lectors will be Neil’s godparents Darlene Pelletier and Glenn Decou. Giftbearers will be Shannon Bares and Jonah Bares. Survivors include his father, James Pervis Boudreaux; his brother Randy J. Boudreaux; his sister Pamela B Burley; his brother-in-law, Jonathan Burley; and his dog Magnolia. He is also survived by his aunts Hilda H. Decou, Cathy H. Gallet (J.C.), R. Jeanne Trahan (John Lloyd), and Ruby L. Hebert; and a host of cousins and friends. He is also survived by a partner of many years Dr. Donald J. Linder. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gertrude Hebert Boudreaux; maternal grandparents Alcee and Alvida Hulin Hebert; fraternal grandparents Leody and Anise Boudreaux; aunts Joyce Hebert Ducharme, Janel Hebert Savoie, Melba Hebert Melancon, and Sable Boudreaux-Trahan; and his uncles Howard Hebert, Earl Hebert, and Elton Hebert. Neil was born in Lafayette, LA on October 18, 1966. He graduated from Vermilion Catholic High School in 1984 and started his career in cosmetology in 1992 after graduating from the Academy of Hair Tech. He worked for Designers 3 and Vicelli’s in Lafayette and later moved to Iowa where he opened the famous Salon Neil Boudreaux with Locations in Cedar Rapides, Paris and New York. He often traveled back home to Lafayette to take care of the needs of his clients for their special wedding day or other occasions. Neil was an avid golfer, tennis player, skater, seamstress and stained-glass artisan. He felt very blessed to have been able to move back to Lafayette in 2019 and rekindle old relationships and spend time with his family and old friends. Upon his return he worked at Ulta Beauty Salon and was currently working at the Hair Studio at the time of his death. While in Iowa Neil volunteered for many organizations but the one he was most proud of was delivering Meals on Wheels even while driving around in “Baby Blue.” Honorary pallbearers will be Elton “Chip” Hebert, Christopher Merckle, Brandon Gallet, Shayne Ducharme, Byron Savoie, and Barret Burley.
