Nellie Roy Miller

February 21, 1947 - April 19, 2022

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott, for Nellie Roy Miller, 75, who passed away at her residence in Duson on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Entombment will be in St. Basil Cemetery Mausoleum. Deacon Cody Miller will conduct the funeral services. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Richard Miller; daughters, Karen Miller Dore' and husband, Aaron and Sheila Miller Pomier and husband, Jeremy; grandson, Travis Champagne and wife, Brooke; great-grandson, Maddox Champagne and a great-granddaughter, Baby Addison on the way; sister, Shirley Breaux and husband, Roland; and brother, Daniel Roy and wife, Helen; nieces and nephews, Ronnie Breaux, Glenn Breaux (Katti), Sharon Lavergne (Ryan), Amy VanHoosen (Matt), Lisa Roy (Mona), and Amanda Burton (John). Nellie was preceded in death by her father, Lucien Roy and her mother, Juanita Patin Roy. Nellie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved her family, especially her grandson, Travis and his son, Maddox. She was an excellent homemaker and always cared for her family. The house was always spotless, her family well fed and cared for. Nellie worked as a deputy clerk for the Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court, where she retired after 28 years of service. She enjoyed going to the casino, though she was mindful of her money. Nellie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her friendliness and her genuine kindness. Pallbearers will be Travis Champagne, Aaron Dore', Jeremy Pomier, Ronnie Breaux, Kevin Colligan, Jackson Colligan and Ryan Lavergne. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Miller family to Melissa Sealy, NP for her companionship to Nellie and her dedicated care to the family and to Dr. Kian Ehsan who treated Nellie like a "V.I.P."
