Paul Mabry Trahan

June 18, 1926 - April 19, 2022

Catholic services will be held for Mr. Paul Mabry Trahan on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette. Paul was 95 when he passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Amelia Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location, 600 E. Farrel Rd., Lafayette, LA 70508, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice will conduct the funeral services. Paul is survived by his daughter, Barbara J. Briggs; three granddaughters, Devin A. Broussard and her husband, Dr. James R. Broussard of Spokane, WA, Tonia M. Shaw and her husband, James M. Shaw, Sr. of Youngsville, LA, and Barbara A. Briggs of Lafayette, LA; nine great grandchildren, Billy and his wife, Drayke, Ryan and Ameile Broussard, James and wife, Lindsey Shaw, Jr., and Kayla and her husband, Mitchell Guidry, and Storm, Jade, and Jewel Miller, and Skye Bearb; seven great-great grandchildren, Bentley, Dawson, and Caspin Shaw, Amethyst Miller, Pearl Howell, Isabella Guidry, and Delphine Broussard; and one sister, Mary Zula Broussard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lato Trahan; parents, Camille Trahan and Eugenie Broussard; son-in-law, Al Briggs; and brothers, Mines, Vines, and Allen Trahan. Paul was born in Leroy, Louisiana, and worked at Sunbeam Bakery and retired as a dedicated and loyal employee. He was a handyman with anything he worked with, and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and traveling. He was President of the Catholic Deaf Center for 12 years. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He will be deeply missed and memories of him will be cherished by all who knew him.
