A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Scott G. Carroll, age 38, who passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. The family requests that visitation be observed in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed by Brady LeBlanc on Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the church. Inurnment will be in St. John Mausoleum. Reverend Monsignor J. Douglas Courville, JCL, Pastor of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick, LA., will officiate the Mass. Deacon George Jourdan and Deacon Nelson Schexnayder will assist with the Mass. Survivors include his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Carroll, (the former Ellen Richard); his siblings, Lauren Curry and her husband Bill, Daniel Carroll, Jr. and his wife Lacey, David Carroll and his wife Madison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raleigh Richard and Nella Hernandez Richard; and his paternal grandparents, William F. "Bill" Carroll and Lula Gardiner Carroll. Scott was born August 9, 1983 in Lafayette, LA. He graduated from both Cathedral Carmel Elementary School and St. Thomas More High School. He attended both, LSU and University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Scott was known for his great sense of humor and kind heart. He was a talented musician with a special love for playing the bass guitar and could play many instruments. Over the years he was a member of several bands. He loved the outdoors and fishing, and some of his favorite times were spent in Grand Isle with friends. He enjoyed fishing with his nieces and nephew when they were younger, teaching them all the art of patience; and they often brought out his trademark "Scott Smile". His loving heart will forever be missed. Honorary Pallbearers will be his siblings, Lauren, Danny and David; his brother-in-law, Bill Curry; his nephew, William Curry; his uncle, Arty Carroll; his great uncle, Weber Borrell; and his classmates of Cathedral Carmel Elementary and his fellow graduates of the Class of 2001 at St. Thomas More High School.
