Stephen A. Thousand

January 11, 1949 - April 26, 2022

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Stephen A. Thousand, 73, who died on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, Louisiana. Inurnment will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, New York. Reverend Gilbert J. Dutel will conduct the funeral services Survivors include two sons, David Thousand of Westbrookville, NY and Sean Thousand and his wife, Joni of Scott; one grandson, Justin Thousand; one sister, Valerie Arnold and her husband, William; two brothers, Tim Thousand and his wife, Carla and Dwight Thousand and his wife, Peggy; step-mother, Judy Thousand and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Bihler Thousand; his parents Audrey Constantin Thousand and Wilbur P. Thousand and two sisters, Loretta Thousand Procopio and Carole Thousand Hyman. Stephen A. Thousand was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce serving in Vietnam. Stephen was truly one of a kind. He loved to travel with the love of his life, Nancy. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed by Brady Leblanc on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Stephen Thousand's name to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Thousand family to the nurses, staff and doctors of Lamm Hospice and Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings for their kindness, support and compassion given to Mr. Thousand during his time of need.
