Windell "Windy" Breaux Harris

March 24, 1960 - September 13, 2021

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, Louisiana, for Windy Breaux Harris, 61, who passed away at her residence in Lafayette on Monday, September 13, 2021. Entombment will follow in St. John Mausoleum. Her brother, Reverend John “Buddy” Breaux, Pastor of Our Lady of the Lake/St. Martin de Porres in Delcambre, will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her husband, Mark Harris; daughter, Kristyn Harris; brothers, Reverend John "Buddy" Breaux and Lane Breaux; mother in law, Linda Harris; sister in laws and brother in laws, Susan and Steve McMullen, Cynthia and Chad Lefferson, Kay and David Lafitte, Vicki Harris; nieces and nephews, Matthew Breaux, Anna Breaux, Amanda Dixon, Jennifer Chipman, Alex Alexander, Jennifer Lofton, Jessica Watkins, Kimberly Ivey, Madison Lafitte, Garret Lefferson, Emily Farrell, Ellen McMullen, Grant Lafitte and Journey Lofton; beloved dog, Calli; and beloved granddog, Georgie. Windy was preceded in death by her mother and father, the former Annette Soileau and Marion Gale "Coach" Breaux, Sr.; father in law, Victor Harris, Jr.; brother in law, Mike Harris. Windy was a graduate of Cathedral Carmel High School and attended University of Southwestern Louisiana. She had a strong love for God and for her family. At the beginning of her career, she was employed as a recruiter at Prudential Insurance Company before joining the family business at C & G Containers, Inc. Windy enjoyed moments spent with her family and friends at social gatherings, holiday events, and time spent at the family camp. She loved cooking a good meal for the one’s she loved, doing watercolor floral paintings, and spending time outdoors playing golf, fishing and hunting. Windy will be remembered for her sparkling and welcoming personality and was loved by everyone she met. Pallbearers will be Matthew Breaux, Peyton Soileau, Slade Norfleet, Dade Dieterich, Carroll Rodrigue and Philip Fremin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garret Lefferson, Grant Lafitte, Shelby Ivey, Jeff Farrell, Dutton Dieterich and Chadwick Soileau. The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location on Thursday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN location at 12:00 pm. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Harris family to the Breaux, Harris and Soileau families and the C & G Container’s family.
