Yvonne C. Ring

March 18, 1938 - May 4, 2022

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 1:30 PM in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, for Yvonne C. Ring, age 84, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at her daughter's residence in Lafayette with her devoted family at her side. The family will receive guests in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The Very Reverend Chester C. Arceneaux, VF, Rector, will serve as Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her son, Dr. Jasper Newton Ring III and his wife, Jari Lynn; two daughters, Jennifer "Jenny" Ring Andrus and her husband, Matt and Jacqueline "Jacquie" M. Ring Lerille and her husband, Mark; seven adored grandchildren, Abby Andrus Geoffroy and her husband Tyler, Jasper A. Ring and his wife Evie, Joshua I. Ring, Jonathan F. Ring, M. Brady Lerille and his wife Olivia, Emily M. Lerille, and Olivia F. Lerille; two great grandchildren, Noah M. Geoffroy and Joel J. Geoffroy; and her brother, Donald Abby Cormier. Yvonne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jasper Newton Ring, Jr.; her parents, Abby and Olivia Cormier; her grandson, Cameron Matthew Andrus; her in-laws, Jasper Newton Ring, Sr. and Beva B. Turner Ring. Yvonne was a proud Mt. Carmel graduate, Class of 1956 and attended SLII. She married her one true love, Jasper Ring, Jr., in 1958. Together they raised their family in Lafayette, always active in her children and grandchildren's education, religious foundation, and social activities. Yvonne's family was her greatest pleasure; cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren, especially during the holidays. Those memories and cherished traditions will live on for generations to come. Yvonne had a passion for creativity, especially when decorating costumes for dance recitals and children's Mardi Gras krewes. She loved her bling!! Yvonne was steadfast in her Catholic Faith, receiving the Honoris Denarius Award in 2000 for her dedication and many services she provided to St. Jules Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Angels of Service for many years. She could always be found attending daily Noon Mass and faithfully praying the holy Rosary. Yvonne had a deep affection for all living creatures. Her servants heart led her on many occasions to offer assistance to strangers in need and she dutifully rescued and sheltered homeless animals. Pallbearers will be Jasper "Jay" Ring, Donald Cormier, Matt Andrus, Mark Lerille, Tyler Geoffroy, Jasper Ring, Brady Lerille, and Jonathan Ring. Honorary Pallbearer will be Joshua Ring. Memorial contributions can be made in Yvonne C. Ring's name to the Carmelite Monastery or to the Lafayette Animal Emergency Clinic. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Ring family to Drs. Gene Brierre, John Higginbotham and David Daly for their great care and compassion.
