Cynthia Powell Guidry

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at The Bayou Church, 2234 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, Louisiana, for Cynthia Powell Guidry, age 67, who peacefully passed away at her residence in Lafayette on Thursday, April 7, 2022. The Guidry family will receive visitors at The Bayou Church on Monday from 9:30 AM until time of services. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Linton Broussard will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her husband and best friend of 39 years, Arthur David Guidry; her two daughters, Amanda G. Snelling (Christopher) and Lauren R. Comeaux (Matthew); her step-daughter, Alicia G. Muniz (Roger); her sister, Ellen Powell Graves; her brother, Channing Powell (Lori); her eight precious grandchildren, Mackenzie R. Snelling, Mason J. Snelling, Skyler D. Roger, Millie F. Roger, Hunter R. Muniz, Colton R. Muniz, Autumn B. Muniz, River B. Muniz, and Wyatt F. Comeaux. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, William D. and Rosalie T. Powell; and her two brothers, Denver Powell and Charles Powell. A native of Ellisville, Mississippi and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Cynthia was a faithful member of The Bayou Church for 20+ years. Cynthia was a well respected and knowledgeable registered nurse, graduating from Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She had the pleasure of working at various hospitals located in Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida. She was truly dedicated to her profession and enjoyed caring for her patients in their time of need. Her daily presence will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, and her memories will live on. Pallbearers will be Christopher Snelling, Matthew Comeaux, Michael Powell, Marvin Guidry, Cody Guidry, Cole Guidry, Steve Graves and Tim Graves. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mason J. Snelling, Skyler D. Roger, Hunter R. Muniz, Colton R. Muniz and River B. Muniz. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Guidry family to Dr. Norris Guidry and the entire staff of Lourdes Hospice for the tender care and compassion given to our dear Cynthia in her time of need.
