Douglas "Doug" James Trahan

November 30, 1958 - February 6, 2022

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Douglas "Doug" James Trahan, age 63, who passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services. Deacon Cody Miller will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his companion and partner in life for the past 43 years, Linda Stelly; his daughters, Maxine Russell and her husband Jeremy, and Heather Daigle and her husband Todd; his grandchildren, Bailey Jones and her husband Garrett, Scout Swanson and his girlfriend Carrie Dang, Madison Romero, Parker Grace Daigle "his best friend and partner in crime", Konnor, Kate, and Karlee Daigle, and Gabrielle Dufrene and her husband Jordan; and his siblings, Wayne Trahan and his wife Sandra, John "Brother John" Trahan and his wife Melinda, Debbie Trahan, and Chad Trahan and his companion Cristine Burbank; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caffery James Trahan and Edna Lee "Bobbie" Trahan; his brother, Glen Trahan and his wife Sylvia; his sister-in-law, Donna Stelly Trahan; and his nephew, CMSgt/E9 Wade Trahan. Doug was a graduate of Acadiana High School Class of '76. He was a supervisor for Thompson Construction having worked with them for over 30 years, just recently retiring. Doug loved fishing, spending time with his family sharing stories, and was a jack of all trades always helping others. He will best be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and his unwavering support providing for them. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Trahan family to the physicians and staff of Oschsner LGMC Pulmonology Group, especially Dr. Matthew Dauterive and his nurse Terry.
