Lita Bergeron Andrus

February 28, 1926 - March 3, 2022

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mrs. Lita Bergeron Andrus, 96, who with loved ones by her side, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott. Reverend Cedric Sonnier will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include one son, James Lee Andrus and his wife, Sherry; her grandchildren, Ray Andrus, Jr. and his wife, Stacy, Benjamen Andrus and his wife, Whitney and Ross Andrus; and her great grandchildren, Ray "R.J." Andrus III, Middleton Mitchum, Hamilton Mitchum, Audrey Andrus, Vivian Andrus, Ayden Scott and Lincoln Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy J. Andrus; her children, Ray Andrus, Sr. and Gayle Andrus Scott; her parents, Sidney and Martha Trahan Bergeron; one brother, Percy Bergeron, Sr.; and one sister, Rena Chaisson. On a quiet evening Lita went to be with her beloved LeRoy. She lived her life loving people fully. She showed her love through fig cake, divinity fudge, and anything she could bring to life in her kitchen. If her mixer is any indication of how deeply she loved, she loved fully. Lita and her daughter Gayle operated Lita's Beauty Den. They were in business for 50 years with a salon full of laughter and a touch of gossip. The women who sat in her chairs became lifelong friends through the decades. Lita had stories and she loved to share them with you. Her favorite stories to tell were the adventures she took with her family across the country, to Mexico, and everywhere in between. She enjoyed sewing and fashioned many of her own clothes. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Andrus, Mike Andrus, Benjamen Andrus, Ross Andrus, Percy (Butch) Bergeron and Christopher Bergeron. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
